Fill your senses

Yesterday there was an event taking place here in town. An exhibit with photography and art and with some local musicians. The whole thing took place in the old liquor factory in town. This building has been closed up for many many years (you’ve been able to sneak in if you wanted to, but it’s been completely illegal – so yes, I’ve done that once about 6 or 7 years ago) and after the fire some years ago it’s been hazardous to go in there. Some kids have not had any thoughts of the danger and snuck in there anyway to paint graffiti and probably to a lot of other things as well.

Now one local photographer got this brilliant idea to use it for an arts/photography exhibition, with the approval of the company that owns the building and I guess they have also made sure it was safe to be in there. It was a thrill to finally be allowed to go in there, look at what it looks like further inside the building as well as taking a look at other peoples photo’s and art.

I showed up just before the opening at noon and at that time there were already a lot of people there, but not so many that it interfered with my own shooting. I just love shooting in decaying buildings.

Wonder if it will be possible to get in there and shoot once all the stuff is gone and no people running in front of your camera.
